Story Homework - Character Dialogue

INT. ADAM'S LIVING ROOM - EVENING

Daniel sits nervously on a chair. It seemed to take forever.

DANIEL
How long is this gonna take?

ADAM
I dunno, it better hurry up.

DANIEL
(slightly raises his voice)
It's going to be awesome.

ADAM
(pointing to the television)
I know...here it comes.

The game comes up on screen. Daniel and Adam get ready to play. It freezes.

DANIEL
Dude, what the hell?

ADAM
(shouting at the television)
What the f*ck just happened?

A yellow light shows up on the console.

DANIEL
(with a slight smirk on his face)
Ahhh man, your PS3's broke.

ADAM
What the hell stupid Sony, why doesn't it work?

DANIEL
I told you to get a 360 bro, but you wouldn't listen.

ADAM
(shouting with a disgusted look on his face)
Shut the hell up!

The console catches fire.

DANIEL
(shouting and pointing at the console)
Dude, it's on fire!

ADAM
(running to get some water)
Holy sh*t.

Adam puts the fire out.

DANIEL
You brought some dodgy console dude.

ADAM
I know.

ADAM (cont.)
F*cking Wal-Mart better give me my money back. I wanted a PS3, not a grill with yellow lights.

DANIEL
(clutches stomach)
Hahahaha, dude, you brought a f*cking grill!

Story Homework

Here is the story using those random cards. I got -

Ford Taurus
Mercy
McDonald's
Savannah, Georgia
Sioux City
Mojave Desert
NFL

So here it is, hope you like it -

This was it. The last game of the indoor football league season. My team – the Sioux City Bandits - had the chance to win the title. There was also going to be representatives from the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL, so I had to play my very best.

...1 minute left, we were winning 30-16. It seemed to take forever... The referee blew the whistle, we had done it! I was so happy, it was the best feeling I had ever felt. We all went to dressing room and congratulated each other. It was so amazing to see smiles on everybody’s faces. I was also keeping a close eye on the coach.

“John can I talk to you for a minute?” coach asked.
“Yes coach” I replied.
“John this is Les Snead, he is the Director of Player Personnel over at the Atlanta Falcons. Les this is John Mercy, the guy I was telling you about” coach said.
“John how very nice to meet you” Les said.
“It’s very nice to meet you to sir” I said.
“Can I just say you played magnificently out there tonight”
“Thank you very much” I replied.
“I’ve been sent here to try and find some rising stars, and I think you could make it big in the NFL” Les said.
“Wow, thank you”
“So I would like to formally offer you a place, as the quarterback, next season, in the NFL, with the Atlanta Falcons” Les said with a smile on his face.
“Yes, I accept, this is an amazing opportunity, thank you so much!” I replied.
“Right, we’ll be in contact soon, to sort out the paperwork”
“Thank you again, I’ll look forward to hearing from you” I replied.

This was incredible. The best day of my life. I had to ring my mom.
“Mom, guess what?”
“What, she replied”
“I’m gonna be able to visit you more”
“That’s great son, but how?”
“As of next season, I will be playing, in the NFL, for the Atlanta Falcons”
“Wow, that’s great. Savannah’s not far away from Atlanta, oh I’m so happy for you”
“Thanks mom, I’m gonna love being back in Georgia, I don’t really like it here in Sioux City so it’s gonna be great”
“I’m so proud of you, ring me when you get here ok”
“Ok bye mom, love you”

I had to celebrate. I needed to go wild. I knew what I could do. I could complete my dream, today. Half of my dream was already complete – playing in the NFL. Now for the other half. I got in my rusty Ford Taurus and pulled out a map. There it was, the Mojave desert. I’d always wanted to go since I was a little boy, and this was my chance. I just remembered, Las Vegas is part of the Mojave desert, I could go there too. This was working out perfectly. But I need to do something first. I started the engine and drove up the road. I pulled in McDonalds car park.
“I need a Big Mac”

Jack Of Diamonds, King Of Hearts

As they taunted ‘call’ at him, a Jack of Diamonds leaped from the sleeve of his beaten tan leather overcoat and into his hand. The men stared in anticipation as he threw his hand up in the air, landing perfectly in formation card after card in the centre of the table. “Din’t y’all think I could win you?” He pushed the chair back from the comfort of his rear and stood, hands cupped to receive his winnings. “And with that, Sirs, I bid you a bonne nuit. The night is a lady, and she’s callin’ my name.”

Staff in hand he walked languidly down the hall through the throng on gambling people to his left and right. “Not so fast” a voice uttered from behind him. “Remy”, she looked at him; eyes lost in his purplesque irises for a moment. “Remy” she spoke again, he didn’t turn. “Mademoiselle, I have no business with you no more.” “Daddy.” She spoke again in hushed tones. Gambit turned to look at her, his eyes glowed, and then he was gone.

“Why’d she call me that?” Gambit asked himself, as he gazed at her through the skylight window of the casino. “It cannot be…” He pulled a Jack of Diamonds out from under his sleeve. “Are you playin’ jokes on me again?” he asked the card, staring at it compulsively, looking for answers. He jumped off the roof and landed on the stone cobbled path below, everything flying away as he retracted his staff.

Knowing that it couldn’t possibly be true, Gambit decided to pursue his final hand of the night. As he took one last glance through the window, he stopped in his tracks. His hands tightened around his staff and his eyes glowing. All the windows smashed around him with several items hovering by his sides. Everyone in the casino stared at him with surprise and he knew he was drawing unnecessary attention to himself. He also knew he should flee the scene but something kept him there.

They came to the doorway. “Hello Remy”, she spoke, with that soft tone. “What’dya doin’ here?” his asked immediately. “Not even a hello?” she asked. “Hello, what’dya doin’ here?” he asked again “This is your daughter Remy”, pushing the teenager towards him. “Go to bed!” he shouted as he turned to walk away. “Don’t you walk away from me again, Remy LeBeau”. He turned around ready to say something but he was lost for words, his heart captured by the moonlight shining on that white streak of hair. “Anna, this ain’t your scene,” he said with authority. “ And neither is it yours… ‘Gambit’, she replied.

Felt like blogging

Right, I felt like blogging so.....

Here are the images I drew up in class the other day, just to get some more practice with the graphics tablets before I start doing some proper images :)

This is the person that I drew, whilst following Ryan's tutorial of the torso.

This is something I just drew afterwards :)

Jean Grey Walks Into A Bar...

By the ocean there is a bar… They called it Hannah’s Roadhouse once… I don’t know what they call it anymore. I just knew that she’d come and bring that thing with her. That thing that to me, was so precious, so deeply moving that just looking at it would blind me. But I had to have it and I knew that I couldn’t have it if she didn’t show up today…

There she was red hair with a slight orange fleck in the Ocean’s sunrise. She wasn’t old, in fact, she was new, as if reborn, and she didn’t see me as she opened the door to the bar. I let her walk, I had no plans. She bought 2 drinks and sat at the bar…

I decided to leave it another minute. As I sat in the corner, I gazed upon her natural beauty. Her face was glowing, as if fresh. As she glanced at the clock, she turned her attention to the door looking quite anxious, so I gathered my things and walked over.

I grabbed a chair and set my things upon the bar. As she turned around, the morning sunlight reflected upon that bright red hair. “Hello Jean” I said. “Hello” she replied, looking very startled. “Here, I brought you a drink” she said whilst passing me a rather large glass of wine. “It’s a bit early for wine isn’t it?” I asked. “May I ask why you want this?” she answered, completely ignoring my question.

I took a sip of the wine, and turned to her. “That’s strong!” I said. She was staring at me with great concentration, her head lowered and her eyes slightly squinted. “You can’t read my mind Jean”, I whispered. “There is no harm in trying”, she sighed, as if it were normal. She then glanced out the window to break the tension.

She placed it on the bar. I nearly burst out crying. All the emotions I had inside of me were ready to come out. I picked it up and touched his face, hoping I would feel a connection. “What does this photo mean to you?” asked Jean. I was so relieved that he was happy and part of something that he wanted to be a part of. “Jean, you have been a loyal friend for many years now, and you have told me things that I wouldn’t even tell my family. But I haven’t been as honest”.

She looked at me with a very confused face. “What do you mean?” she asked. “Well, when I said I was an old family friend of the Summers, I was lying”, I confessed. She was constantly staring into my eyes trying to figure out what I meant. “Jean, I’m Scott’s mum”...
